Tucci’s Pizza: A Slice of Heaven in South Florida
Ah, Pizza! The Universal Love Language 🍕
Who doesn’t adore pizza? It’s the ultimate crowd-pleaser, perfect for any occasion—be it a quick meal, a party, or a midnight snack. Today, I’m taking you on a nostalgic journey to my all-time favorite pizza spot in South Florida: Tucci’s Pizza.
The Beginning: A Teenage Discovery
Flashback to 2012. I’m a 17-year-old newbie in the hospitality world, working as a busboy at Ninja, a spinning sushi restaurant. Though my stint there was short-lived, it led me to a tiny gem around the corner—Tucci’s Pizza. One random Thursday evening, I wandered in and was greeted by a full waitlist. Luckily, I snagged a spot at the bar, right in front of the pizza maestros. The moment you step inside, you understand their slogan, “the char is flavor.” The aroma of wood-fired dough, rich tomato sauce, and gooey cheese is simply irresistible.
The Evolution: Bigger and Better
Fast forward to today, Tucci’s has upgraded to a more spacious location at 341 E Yamato Rd in Boca Raton. More ovens, more seats, and thankfully, shorter wait times. This expansion was much needed and has only added to their charm. The interior is modern while keeping the original design language from their previous location.
Meet the Maestro: Alberto Aletto
Alberto Aletto, affectionately known as “Albertucci,” is a first-generation Italian American with roots in Naples. While you might expect Neapolitan-style pizza, Tucci’s offers something unique. Their best-seller, the Margherita, a basic sounding feature set of buffalo mozzarella, house-made tomato sauce, and basil. It’s simple but executed to perfection, call it, “Tucci’s style.”
Beyond Pizza: A Culinary Delight
Tucci’s isn’t just about pizza. Their wood-fired wings, topped with rosemary, garlic, and caramelized onions, are a must-try. They’ve also expanded their menu to include salads and pasta, offering a full Italian dining experience.
The Perfect Meal
Here’s my go-to order: start with a salad (like the Broccoli Rabe with Sausage), follow up with those amazing wings, and finish with a classic Margherita or cheese pizza. When a place nails the basics, you know the rest will be stellar.
A Slice of New York in Florida
As an Italian who’s lived in NYC for over six years, I know good pizza. And if you need more convincing, just ask Dave Portnoy. He ranked Tucci’s in the top two of his top 11 pizza joints in South Florida.
Time to Indulge
Now that your taste buds are tingling, it’s time to head over to Tucci’s Pizza. They’re open daily for dinner from 5pm-9pm and lunch Tuesday-Friday from 11am-3pm. Tell Tucci, Yancy sent you, and don’t forget to snap a pic of your empty pie tray and tag us on Instagram.
We’d love to share your pizza love! <3
